IN MY HUMBLE OPINION
Today, the long-awaited publication of European Union's independent report on the Georgia/S. Ossetia/Russia war is being delayed "for a more appropriate moment." Is it because the report doesn't agree with the US' story on the war - and that VP Biden arrives there today to declare the US' support for Saakhashvili - and once again to make claims that it was Russia who initiated the August 08 war?
American reporters, with their "western" colleagues following dutifully along, spun the events as if it was "Russia who sent the invading force into Georgia." Let's get it straight: Georgia invaded S. Ossetia, and Russia intervened with force in this small disputed territory where they had kept UN/Georgian/American-approved "peacekeepers" since the early 90s.
Finally an independent report comes out nearly a year later that shows that Georgia's Saakhashvili sent invading troops into S.Ossetia first - and the report is withheld from the public until some unknown time in the future.
How can we continue to push a story that simply isn't true or manipulate the publishing of the definitive report on this war? Do we really believe that we can shout "black is white" long enough and loud enough that people will begin to believe us?
Is this the way we teach our children to behave? Or act in our families? Or neighborhoods? Or city councils? How can we expect to regain world respect and trust with this kind of manipulation?
It's shocking...

In case anyone missed it, the below was forwarded to my attention. It's a critical report of Saakashvili from the UK Foreign Policy Centre:
