RMW analysis by Russia: Other Points of View
This
Washington Post commentary is intentionally misleading, inaccurate and one-sided. It implies that rather than dealing with Russia's crisis effects (contracted from the U.S. economic crisis), the Russian government has done nothing but adopt constitutional changes to allow Putin to return to the presidency. In fact, the Russian government has taken measures to shore up Russia's banks (as the U.S. and other governments have), and it has also taken measures to protect Russia's weak and vulnerable auto industry (as the U.S. government has), in addition to other industries. Why does the Post carry daily attacks on Russia while ignoring more authoritarian regimes such as China, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Cuba and tens of other states? Is this accurately informing the American public or conducting a propaganda campaign against one regime (for as yet
unclear reasons)?
